Recently, Yuantian Biotechnology (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. has developed and produced the world's first bio enzyme regenerated PET bottle using waste PET textile as raw material. The company uses efficient and specific PET degrading enzymes to directly degrade waste PET textiles into terephthalic acid (rPTA) and ethylene glycol (rEG) under normal temperature and pressure conditions. International food and beverage giants have begun exploring environmentally friendly, low-carbon, and lightweight packaging development paths. Many domestic and foreign food and beverage manufacturers, including Coca Cola, Danone Evian, and Dongpeng Teyin, are already trying to use recycled PET bottles. But currently, the recycled PET bottles launched in the global market are all physical and chemical recycled bottles. The United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, India and other countries have issued clear laws and regulations on the use of recycled plastics in food contact materials. Although China has not yet established laws and regulations on the application of recycled plastics in food contact materials, it is already exploring a comprehensive management system for recycled plastics that is suitable for China's national conditions.
